Media Network for Healthy Eating, Active Living

As of April 1, 2010, a new and distinct Media Network for Healthy Eating, Active Living (HEAL) was established with the support of a Healthy Communities Fund grant from the Ministry of Health Promotion. This new program provides support similar to the Media Network for a Smoke-Free Ontario, but to a new group of stakeholders across Ontario whose focus is on healthy eating and active living issues.

The Media Network for HEAL supports health practitioners, educators, consultants and volunteers working in the health industry across Ontario. We provide our members with daily media reports keeping them up to date on current media and policy issues. We offer training and consultation in media advocacy and social media to advance local public policy through in-person workshops and online webinars. We also provide media analysis, resources and support on campaigns focused on HEAL issues.

Members can register for any of the Program Training and Consultation Centre (PTCC) workshops and can have access to the PTCC website and resources (https://www.ptcc-cfc.on.ca/). If you decide to join our HEAL media network, please advise us of any events or issues of interest in your community and share your past experiences.
