Orientation to Comprehensive Tobacco Control in Ontario is a live-recorded webinar held on February 22, 2011. Presented by Steven Savvaidis, Manager of the Program Training and Consultation Centre, this webinar provided an overview of comprehensive tobacco control in Ontario, including the historical development of the Smoke-Free Ontario (SFO) Strategy and program and policy components at multiple levels. During this online learning session, the presenter:
  • discussed the critical role of community-based tobacco control (CTC) within the SFO Strategy;
  • drew upon experience in Ontario and other leading jurisdictions to explain the principles and evidence upon which comprehensive tobacco control strategies are founded; and
  • highlighted current and emerging trends in CTC.
