Tobacco: Lessons from the Battles of Half a Century

 


On May 14th, 2013, the Program Training and Consultation Centre (PTCC) hosted special guest presenter Dr. Charles Gardner, Medical Officer of Health (MOH) for Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit, where he presented on tobacco control's many historical achievements and the forces that have shaped the tobacco use epidemic. Current and future directions for comprehensive tobacco control and the role of local public health departments were discussed. Dr. Gardner also shared his personal experiences as a local MOH who has been engaged in tobacco control for over 14 years.
