Waterpipe Smoking – An Increasing Issue for Public Health


On April 11, 2013, the Program Training and Consultation Centre (PTCC) partnered with the Ontario Tobacco Research Unit (OTRU) to offer an online learning session on the increasing issue of waterpipe smoking. Guest presenter Dr. Roberta Ferrence discussed current patterns of use in Canada, explored evidence about the toxicity of waterpipe smoke, and presented preliminary findings from an observational study of waterpipe cafes in Toronto, Ontario.
